If you’re a Sauvignon fan, do you lean towards the Loire or New Zealand, or maybe towards an in-between style from Bordeaux, South Africa or Chile? Time to expand your horizons and be enchanted by Los Cardos, a truly dazzling Sauvignon Blanc we’ve found from Argentina. This classic example comes from vineyards 1,000 metres high in the Uco Valley. There “the piercing sunshine and crystal clear Andean air combine with big dips in night-time temperatures to allow the grapes to rest and capture the intensity of flavour found in high altitude wines” (Andrew Catchpole). Our Buyer Beth Willard was seriously impressed and she’s confident you will be too. Serve chilled with steamed asparagus, salmon quiche or a pumpkin and goat’s cheese risotto.
