This is a dazzling Marlborough Sauvignon from a hugely acclaimed award winning winery. But even top estates very occasionally have a vat or two surplus to requirements, be that due to a bumper harvest, a cancelled order, or the need to accommodate a new vintage. Either way, our Buyer Dan springs into action when such a rare opportunity arises. Under its normal label this super Sauvignon sells for a hefty premium (and has won three Golds), so to protect that position, we’re sworn to absolute secrecy. But if you’re a Kiwi wine fan, you will recognise, from the gooseberry and tropical fruit aromas to the lime, guava and passion fruit flavours, that there is an intensity and purity here that you only find among Marlborough’s elite Sauvignons.
