Les Quatre Pilas Vermentino Roussanne 2018

Vin de France

An exciting new-release white combining two little known but deliciously characterful grape varieties. Vermentino and Roussanne both ripen well in the Languedoc to give this wine luscious peach, apricot fruit and juicy lemony zip. Tasty and fresh.

France’s Languedoc is a wonderful playground for winemakers. They’re able to pick and choose grape varieties and methods to produce exciting, rule breaking wines. This is certainly true for third generation winemaker Joseph Bousquet – a man with ambition! He inherited 15 hectares of vines, planted another dozen in the nearby aromatic scrubland, then in 1997 took over Domaine Les Quatre Pilas and its 6 hectares of vineyard. With his first vintage, in 2001, he won many awards. Joseph and his wife Sylvie now make a delicious range of wines. This white combines southern France’s Vermentino and the Rhône’s Roussanne, both grown on Joseph’s estate. Carefully fermented and lees aged, it’s creamy and richly fruity with a tasty balance of freshness.

"An exciting new release from Joseph Bousquet. He really knows how to capture character in his grapes" Mark Hoddy
