The Real Review called this red, "very intense and powerful, full-bodied and well structured"; "What a pleasure" wrote Halliday. There is much praise besides and very high scores and the same for its legendary estate. Halliday proclaimed, "Leeuwin Estate is a class act, every facet of its business working with the precision of a Swiss watch. It stands at the very forefront of estate-based, family owned wineries." Founded by Denis and Tricia Horgan in 1972, after Robert Parker commended the land for wine, they were one of five founding families of Margaret River. Their Art Series has been recognised as 'Outstanding'. Using top estate grapes, all barrel or barrique aged for 22 months, this exceptional red has elegance, energy and drive.

"Loads of cassis, violet and blackberry varietal fruit, expertly infused with cedary oak notes" Huon Hooke
