Hasn't Malbec come a long way? It used to produce the tough, tannic reds of SW France, then Argentina got a hold of it and made it a worldwide star. Now France is revisiting the grape and showing just how delicious its wines are with refined techniques and careful handling. Hervé discovered a plot of 30 year old vines in the Languedoc's Vallée de l'Orb, with soils covered with those big galets roulés stones that promote lovely fruit intensity. He was impressed with the grapes and bagged the lot. Ever the trendsetter, Hervé has clocked onto the benefits of presenting his Malbec in a can. This supple red makes a refreshing drink from its new eco friendly packaging. A fine choice for a summertime picnic with cold meats or a fat sandwich.

"The Languedoc provides a wonderful playground of grapes for a winemaker - silky fruit red in a can" Hervé Sabardeil
