Bordelais winemakers are a close knit group and to be part of their inner circle you really have to be one yourself. Fortunately, our winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua is Bordelais born and bred and trained at First Growth Château Haut-Brion. It was he who discovered a tremendous cuvée of claret at Château Mangot – a Grand Cru property owned by generations of the Todeschini family. They also have Château La Brande in Castillon, close to Le Chai, hence our connection. South facing limestone slopes, low yields and great dedication to detail produce outstanding quality. From that propitious start JMS picks his favourite vat each year. Over 12 months in premium, part new oak has lent a luscious layer of vanilla. Decant and serve with lamb or beef.

"Gorgeous wine. Very impressed by its complexity – a really grand Bordeaux! A bargain at around £20" Online Review
