With many awards and a patchwork of vineyards throughout Burgundy to their name, the Drouhin family have a lot to be proud of. Their winemaking tradition stretches back six generations, to when Jean-Baptiste Laroze purchased a vineyard in 1850. Since then, each successive generation has sought to develop the estate, adding vineyards in a variety of enviable locations. This is their entry level white Burgundy, made with the same care and attention they use on their Grands Crus. Using hand picked Chardonnay grapes, they age the wine in oak barrels (10% new) for 8 months, lending elegant notes of vanilla. The excellent 2019 vintage was celebrated by critic James Suckling as one that "hit the Bullseye" for Burgundy. Fruity and vivacious.
