Here’s a deliciously rare wine that port aficionados definitely won’t want to miss. It’s from Quinta do Noval, a historic estate which is named after its vineyard. They agreed to bottle this special vintage port to honour our golden anniversary.

Vintage port is only made in the finest years and it’s up to each individual house if they want to ‘declare’ a vintage. Christian Seely is the exceptional winemaker who has returned the superb port house of Quinta do Noval to its former glory. He has been at the helm for over 20 years, since AXA took ownership, and knows the nuances of each vineyard plot. He also has a most uncanny way of knowing which vintages will develop into greatness, which is why Noval had the confidence to declare 2015 when many other houses did not. And that makes this special edition all the more rare, and all the more desirable. It goes without saying that the wine is outstanding, with a firm structure and a core of black fruit. Will reward further cellaring.
