We reserve our L'Epiphanie label for very special Bordeaux wines, that we carefully finish at our Le Chai cellar. Always from a flagship estate, this top 2018 from the Montagne satellite of Saint Emilion is gloriously ripe with supple Merlot fruit.

Our Bordeaux wine buyer, Jean Marc Sauboua, was born in the region so, unsurprisingly, has an terrific network of contacts. He's also very charming, which means whenever a top château, and we mean the finest, has a parcel of surplus wine doesn't quite make it into the Grand Vin, he gets a call. An excellent price for no names splashed across the label - that's no problem for Jean Marc with a fan base of Bordeaux wine lovers. The wines are often from First Growth estates, although we're not saying that of the Montagne (there aren't any of course), but Jean Marc was so impressed he said that the wine deserved to be part of the L'Epiphanie range. Aged in oak barriques, it's plush with gentle spiced fruit and silky tannins. Preferably decant.

"L'Epiphanie Montagne tastes as good as many Grand Cru Saint Emilions. Intense fruit and complexity" Jean-Marc Sauboua
