Royalty of Europe were praising the sweet wines from this Constantia estate over 200 years ago. More recently, in 2012, the estate was revitalised after the arrival on the board of some heavyweight names of Cru Classé Bordeaux. Klein Constantia today boasts 146 hectares of prime vineyard on the lower slopes of Constantiaberg, with superb views across the valley and False Bay. Indeed, the estate’s vines are a mere 10 km inland, and so benefit from cooling ocean breezes. Hence you’ll find an appealing freshness and purity in their wines. With minimal interference from the winemaking, this fine white uses purely free run juice, slowly fermented and aged on its lees for a little creaminess. A most elegant white with seafood or Japanese cuisine.
