Situated in Riverland, by the mighty Murray River, Kingston Estate is an impressive family winery. It was founded in 1965 by Nina and Steve Moularadellis – Greek immigrants who met while picking grapes in 1961. Originally growers, the family started making wine in 1985 when son Bill founded the family winery. Today, Bill runs the winery and the vineyards, with Nina and Steve on hand to offer advice based on half a century spent in the Aussie wine industry. Over the years, Kingston Estate has carved a niche with its dense, flavoursome Petit Verdot, and The Ink Shed is a glorious blend of that Bordeaux native and classic Aussie Shiraz. It’s smooth enough to enjoy as a warming glass solo, or as a partner to hearty stews or strong cheeses.
