To beer drinkers, speciality ales are part of what makes Britain Great, and the malty Joseph Holt Maple Moon is as delicious as it is different. The Joseph Holt Brewery has sat proudly near the bottom of Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester, since 1860, and its associated chain of pubs is very much part of the city’s social fabric. The brewery makes up to 500 barrels per day, using best quality English malt and British and Slovenian hops. It has remained family run for five generations, and over the decades the family have retained the key traditions and beliefs that a pioneering Joseph Holt held dear. Maple Moon is brewed using a subtle maple flavouring. It’s a lighter, malty ale to enjoy on its own or with spicy foods, any time of the year.
