Hunter's was the estate that kickstarted the Kiwi wine revolution in the 1980s. And here is a terrific Sauvignon Blanc using grapes all from their original Home Block vineyard. First release last year got huge plaudits. The 2021 could be even better!

Beyond the Label
A real elegance of intense citrus and wet stone, with tropical fruit
Passionfruit, mango, guava, with citrus mineral zip
Ernie and Jane Hunter were the first to put New Zealand on the world wine map. That was with Sauvignon Blanc from the little vineyard beside their winery – the Home Block. When first shown outside New Zealand at our 1986 London Vintage Festival, their 1985 simply astonished customers and experts alike. It won every award going, sparked New Zealand newspaper headlines and a debate in the NZ parliament! The country suddenly realised it had an extraordinary wine to offer the world. Hunter's today remains family owned, but has extended well beyond the Home Block. This special release, however, is all Sauvignon from the original vineyard. 10% barrel aged and with 3 months' lees ageing, the wine sings with fruit finesse. A great seafood white.
"Outstanding weight and fruit purity combined with refined
texture and zesty acidity. Super long"
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit On the 2020 vintage
