Chat with Vinny
The apothecary style bottle alludes to there being something unusual about Hendrick’s. Made in small quantities in two stills in the west coast town of Girvan in Scotland, it’s a blend of two spirits with an addition of unique botanical infusions.
Tasting notes
Complex floral lemon moving to pepper, wood and a spicy tang
Aroma
Lush sweet aromas with elegant juniper and floral softness
In 2003, the Wall Street Journal declared Hendrick’s “the best gin in the world”. Nothing much has changed because Hendrick’s continue to distil in tiny batches of 450 litres, giving their master distiller, Lesley Gracie, great control over quality. It gives her the option to innovate too. This sought-after gin has been created by infusing the spirit with quinine and wormwood – characters that come with regular blending partners tonic and vermouth, but which have been intensified by distillation. There’s blue lotus blossom too, which adds exquisite floral and rose notes to the flavour. Serve with a dash of tonic and ice – or let Orbium’s unique range of aromas and flavours shine out by pairing it simply with chilled soda or an ice cube.
