Floral, peach, tangerine with nutty spice
Launched in 1994, this is a magnificent, ageworthy Condrieu from the third generation estate Guigal, probably the most famous family of the northern Rhône. Viognier is picked from some of the steepest plots in the appellation – Côte Chatillon, Château de Volan, Coteaux du Chery and Colombier – all by hand by the bravest pickers. Not only that, these vineyards are green harvested a number of times to keep yields exceptionally low. Fermentation in 100% new French oak and nine months ageing on the fine lees ensure the oaky spice is seamlessly integrated with intense, bright stone fruit. This wine is a masterpiece, evidenced by the high scores from the world’s top publications. Enjoy with creamy sauced white meat or fish and discerning guests!
