More information
Chile is renowned for its superb Bordeaux style reds and crisp whites. Less well known are its rosés – a deliciously fresh, fruity style between the two. This wine is the creation of the excellent Viña La Rosa, a winery founded in 1824 and one of the oldest in the country. At the time establishing an estate and planting vineyards was all the rage among Chile’s wealthy elite. Today the property is in the hands of the sixth generation and, with 700 hectares of vines, can afford the luxury of using only estate grown fruit. The Cabernet, Merlot and Shiraz grapes for this juicy rosé were all taken from a single vineyard within a narrow valley that produces particularly ripe fruit. Enjoy as a glass solo or with a spicy stir-fry, salads or fish.
