The Grand Vin from this prestigious estate costs around £30, but thanks to our longstanding partnership winemaker Samuel Guibert has created for us a Grande Réserve edition – with all the pedigree of the top wine, but at a much more affordable price.

A unique red combining southern French richness with the class of a Grand Cru claret, Réserve de Gassac is made exclusively for our customers at a very special price. The Daumas Gassac wine estate was founded by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, former glovemakers to royalty and by chance friends with Bordeaux geography professor Henri Enjalbert. Visiting the property, Henri was bowled over by the quality of the terroir – formed over thousands of years by slowly shifting glaciers. The soil is so well drained that the vine roots must grow deep down to find nourishment and moisture, promoting unique aromas and flavours in the grapes. A great alternative to their pricy Grand Vin, this rich, ripe red is superb with garlicky lamb or hearty casseroles.

"From arguably the Languedoc's top estate. Substantial inky red full of intense blackcurrant aroma" Sunday Times
