As you might expect from the Languedoc, this Grande Réserve is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan and Syrah – fruity, dry, elegant and as pale the classics from Provence. Soon after Aimé and Véronique Guibert bought their property in the Gassac Valley in 1970, their friend Henri Enjalbert, a professor of geography, told them they were sitting on a patch of land that had the potential to make magnificent Grand Cru style wines. Formed over thousands of years by slowly shifting glaciers, the poor, well drained soils were perfect for vines. History has shown this to be correct and Gassac is now known as the one true ‘Grand Cru’ of the south. Enjoy this delightfully fresh, red berry and citrus rosé with seafood, fish or ratatouille.
