Fox Run Traminette 2016

Finger Lakes

From a young American winery, named among the Top 100 in the World by Wine & Spirits magazine, and with many Trophies to their name, this is a fresh, aromatic Gold medal white. It is Fox Run’s Traminette, brimful with bright fruit salad flavours.

Fox Run is an exciting winery in New York State’s Finger Lakes – a wine region that would be far too cold for the usual Vitis vinifera vines, if the many lakes there didn’t moderate temperatures. Lake Seneca is the one closest to Fox Run, established in 1989 at a century-old dairy farm. It can boast Golds and Trophies since its 1990 launch vintage. Today it’s in the hands of Scott and Ruth Osborn, plus Ruth’s sister Kathleen and brother-in-law Albert Zafonte. Peter Bell has been senior winemaker since day one, while John Kaiser manages the vineyards. Both are very knowledgeable. This pure Traminette is packed full of bright, crisp fruity flavour, with a hint of lychee. Tasty as a glass solo, and great with spicy stir-fry or chicken dishes.
