Finca Libertad Tinto NV

Vino Tinto

If you love the easy, silky berry fruit of Spain's Tempranillo, with a hint of toasty oak like you find in Rioja, pick up a bargain with this red. It's from Javier Murúa, behind our much-loved Barón de Barbón Rioja. Lots of flavour for a small price.

From a Rioja bodega of a few generations standing, Javier Murúa has a great network of contacts. He's always the first to hear when there's a parcel of quality grapes or a special vat of wine that needs a home. He's not confined to Rioja either – he has friends all over Spain. From these he blends some great wines, both in terms of flavour and value. Finca Libertad is an easy going, supple fruit Tempranillo from vineyards throughout northeast Spain. It may have simple 'Vino Tinto' on the label, but it tastes much finer than that. Using purely the prized grape of Rioja, Tempranillo, it is brimful with juicy plums, redcurrant and black cherries. Enjoy alongside tapas, garlic mushrooms or chicken. It’s great as a glass on its own, too.
