"Such power, yet such elegance and delicacy using southern Italy’s noble Aglianico grape" Leo Bassano

Tasting note information
In 1986, two families in Campania's premium Irpinia region (home also to world famous Taurasi wines) joined forces to create Feudi di San Gregorio. They helped spearhead a renaissance in southern Italian winemaking, and in particular the use of the region’s amazing native grapes. Top of the list is the Aglianico grape, which shares many of the characteristics of the great Nebbiolo of Barolo fame. Intense cherry fruit, firm but silky tannins and good acidity mean the wines can age for decades. Thankfully you don’t have to wait that long for this delicious red. It’s made in their beautifully designed winery, with its even more impressive barrel hall. This wine is all about the delectable, mature fruit – perfect with aubergine parmigiana.
