Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a well regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board the quality has soared. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it as an independent concern, with the family still very much at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier are also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’, and the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of 2016 and grapes produced to the highest standards. They all come from the next door valley, the rugged Ardèche. Part oak aged, it's silky with ripe black fruit and herbal complexity. Ideal with lamb and rich tomato borlotti.
