Hermitage AOC

True to its top northern Rhône appellation, this brilliant 92 point Hermitage Blanc is both rich and exotic, yet tightly mineral zipped with loads of potential. From a terrific family estate taken over by the renowned Chapoutier clan, this is 5-Star.

Wine Advocate says of Ferraton, “The quality (and number of cuvées) from this estate continues to soar.” This domaine, founded in 1946, has always been highly regarded. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has risen a big step higher. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, and with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier are also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’, and the result is some really impressive wines. Even more so with the quality of the 2016 vintage and grapes grown using the highest biodynamic standards. Decant the wine early or cellar.

"Ripe scents of honey and grilled pineapple, this medium to full-bodied wine is firm and tight" Joe Czerwinski
