Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Since the Chapoutiers have joined the team, “the quality from this estate continues to soar” (Wine Advocate). The Ferraton family work closely with Michel Chapoutier, oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier, and this ‘super team’ produce a range of amazing wines. Le Méal is a sublime, ripe and powerful, concentrated Hermitage using grapes from the warmest terroir of the Hermitage Hill. 14 months in oak, 20% new, lets the bold ripe berry fruit shine through with a measured influence of toasted oak complexity. Only two years old, the wine is still very young, with rich, meaty length and complexity. Decant the wine beforehand and let it breathe.
