Chat with Vinny
Hermitage white is rare and in the scarce 2016 vintage even rarer. From a fabulous estate taken over by Chapoutier in 2004, and with input from 5-Star winemaker Stéphane Ogier, this is a glorious white. Pure Marsanne, it’s exotic, luscious and long.
Tasting notes
Utterly compelling, luscious, exotic, creamy and complex
Aroma
Creamy, toasty, honeysuckle, ripe peach, spice
Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has risen even higher. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset and the renowned Stéphane Ogier are also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’, and the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of the 2016 vintage and grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous brilliance you can look forward to. Pure Marsanne from the Les Dionnières vineyard, this is divine.
