Ferraton Père et Fils Côte-Rôtie Lieu-Dit Montmain 2018

Cote-Rotie AOC

Critic Jeb Dunnock awarded this awesome Côte Rôtie 94-96 points, calling it "ripe, fleshy, undeniably sexy". It's from the superb, Chapoutier-run Ferraton estate, which explains why its wines "represent screaming values". A seductively velvety red.

Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has rocketed. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset is also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’, and the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of the 2018 vintage and grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous richness you can look forward to. Wine Advocate described its "undeniable appeal". Tasting gorgeous 'straight out of the gate' it will age well too.

"Loaded with sweet blue and black fruits, spice box, flowery incense, and fruitcake-like flavors" Jeb Dunnock
