It seems customers can’t get enough of the bright fruit and grassy zip of New Zealand’s tasty Sauvignon Blancs. For this new release white our Buyer Dan looked beyond the classic region of Marlborough on South Island. He found just what he was looking for on the East Coast of North Island. An ocean-cooled climate there brings out a touch more of the herbaceous – rather than the tropical fruit – character of this grape, but it still has all the usual Kiwi exuberance. It’ll fit the bill all the year round – great well chilled in summer to slake the thirst; equally good in colder winter months to perk up the taste buds. It’s ideal to enjoy on its own, but will make a perfect partner to pan-fried salmon, other seafood, or spicy Asian dishes.
