For an authentic taste of Chablis, look to small, family run estates like Domaine de la Mandelière. It lies on a ridge of limestone, where with painstaking care Robert Nicolle produces this mineral crisp, citrusy white with honeyed apple notes.
"Fantastic Chablis. Fairly complex with hints of fresh apple, and lime and yet full bodied creaminess"
Online Review For the 2015 vintage
Crisp, appley and punctuated with a steely, mineral edge, Domaine de la Mandelière is a Chablis that justifies the region’s illustrious reputation. It’s the creation of Robert and Josette Nicolle, who carefully nurture their wines from bud-break to bottle to achieve the most authentic expression of terroir. The Nicolle family have tended their vineyards on a ridge of limestone in the heart of the region for four generations. The fruit is hand harvested and hand sorted in the vineyard, and that painstaking commitment to quality shines through in the character of the wines. You can expect a complex Chablis with aromas of stone fruit and apple with floral hints. Serve cool – but not cold – with fresh oysters, poached salmon or white meats.

Laithwaite's began in 1969, when geography student Tony Laithwaite took a job washing bottles in Bordeaux ...
and fell in love with wine and the people who make it. When he borrowed a van to share their delicious wines with
friends and neighbours at home, things went so well that hundreds of little wineries all around the world were soon
queuing to take part. Today we're the UK's No.1 home-delivery wine merchant, with over 1,500 wines to choose from
including red, white, rosé, Champagne, Prosecco, spirits ... you name it. Tony's still at it - and now really good
at washing bottles. Read more
