Domaine de la Colline 2017

Touraine AOP

Sancerre fans rejoice! Here’s a bright, fresh Sauvignon star from neighbouring Touraine and very much in that classic flinty mineral lemon style. 2017 was a very good vintage for the area, so enjoy this stunning crisp white from a family domaine.

The Colin family have nurtured the vineyards of Domaine de la Colline for four generations, growing the classic grape varieties of the Loire Valley, including Chenin Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. This ultra fresh 2017, however, is pure Sauvignon Blanc, the variety responsible for Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé and the star of the Touraine region. Our specialist Loire Buyer Jehan Sacaze selected this dazzling white, having been impressed by the family’s medal winning 2016 vintage. The 2017 is every bit as good, with its intense grassy and honeysuckle aromas and crisp, citrus freshness. Winemaker Rémi Colin recommends it with local cheeses such as Crottin de Chavignol, white fish or steamed asparagus with a knob of beurre d’Isigny.
