Treat yourself to one of the world’s finest Rieslings from France's Alsace. It's from a family established there for over 400 years, whose wines are renowned worldwide. From old vines grown on limestone soils, this is pristine, lime-zipped and fresh.
Decanter named Zind-Humbrecht as one of France’s Top 10 wineries: “Does winemaking genius exist? If it does then Olivier Humbrecht MW must be in the frame.” Wine Advocate called the wines “absolutely impressive in their depth”. The family have been Alsace growers since 1620 and started making wines in 1947. They now have 40 hectares, all tended biodynamically – by 22 full-time staff – to express as perfectly as possible the grape and its limestone ‘calcaire’ terroir. Their Riesling Roche Calcaire comes from 40-year-old vineyards, planted on the superb chalky, limestone soils around the village of Gueberschwihr, in the foothills of the Vosges. Still very young and tightly zipped, the wine is best cellared or opened early. A great fish white.
"Tingling with freshness and pithy zest. Vivid lemon freshness persists to the long, bright finish"
