Domaine Jean Monnier et Fils Puligny-Montrachet 2019

Puligny-Montrachet AOC

Praise from Robert Parker for Domaine Jean Monnier: “Wines are cunningly delicious and supple young, but age. This is an estate whose wines I recommend with much enthusiasm.” Especially in such a great vintage. Superb energy, freshness and poise.

If you’re something of an enthusiast of white Burgundy, you’ll know that Burgundies from the 2019 vintage are an exceptional catch. "If you love great Burgundy, you should think about securing some 2019s quickly," wrote Decanter; "2019 is a superb vintage," claimed RobertParker.com. Father and son Jean-Claude and Nicolas Monnier made the best of the excellent year at their estate, which was founded in Meursault in 1720. It now comprises 16 hectares extending from Puligny Montrachet to Beaune. Their 2019 Puligny shows a delightful, smooth creaminess on the mid-palate, with bright apricot fruit and spice on a luxurious long finish. It’ll develop with time - for now let it breathe and serve in large-bowled glasses. A top choice with turbot.

"Fresh fruit dominates the attack, both citrus and stone fruit. Rounded, textured palate, minerality" Stewart Pryce
