Christophe Gadais cut his teeth in Sancerre, mastering vibrant, mineral laced whites. Since moving back to the family domaine, he’s turned his hand to “ripe, rich and intense” (Wine International) sur lie Muscadet. His top cuvée is dazzlingly crisp.

We’re on a mission to put Muscadet back at the top of the charts. Why? Because we believe this forgotten classic is better than it’s ever been and offers real value for money. As Hugh Johnson says, “There is nothing more refreshing or moreish.” That's particularly true in the stellar 2018 vintage. This is father and son Christophe and Pierre-Henri Gadais’ top cuvée, using the best bunches from their vineyards. It’s a fine white aged sur lie, meaning it’s left for months on its fine lees to add subtle nutty complexity to the bright apple, pear and floral flavours. Wine International has noted how “the revival of Muscadet is coming from growers like Gadais”. You’ll see why with this intense 2018. Serve with seafood or lighter dishes.

"I adore the crisp, mineral laden charms of fine Muscadet sur lie. This is a top example" Jehan Sacaze
