Savennières is a little known appellation of the Loire, producing some of the finest wines of France. Dry, intense Chenin Blanc that can easily age a decade into sublime, nutty richness. This is a superb single estate white from Domaine FL, a property set up by telecom mogul Philip Fournier. He brought together two estates in Anjou, enlisted the expertise of renowned Bordeaux consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, and now makes outstanding wines in five Anjou appellations. All-organic methods are employed in the vineyards and the cellar to ensure healthy, well balanced soils, deep roots and superb quality grapes. The wine is aged in older casks to lend complexity. For drinking now, decant and serve with fine fish dishes. It will cellar well.
