Domaine Dampt Vieilles Vignes 2015

Chablis AOC

Chablis is one of the world’s most sought after wines. The finest come from individual estates that nurture their wines every step of the way. That’s very true of the Dampts’ beautifully poised 2015 – a top vintage showing citrus, mineral intensity.

The Dampt brothers, Eric, Emmanuel and Hervé, may only be second generation winemakers, but they now own some top vineyards, from Petit Chablis to Grand Cru, and produce some of the region’s finest wines. That’s why, every year, we’re hot foot to their cellar door, eager to try out the new vintage. It is the appellation’s Kimmeridgian clay soils, along with a marginal cool climate that only just ripens the grapes, plus the domaine’s excellent sites, and exacting standards in the vineyard, that result in such special wines. The 2015 is a modern classic with a hay, citrus and bright fruit character that’ll develop honeyed intensity as it matures, while retaining the trademark streak of crisp minerality. Enjoy with all sorts of seafood dishes.
