This Grand Cru was made by the multi medal winning brothers Eric, Emmanuel and Hervé Dampt. Their estate is based in the ancient district of Tonnerre, just outside Chablis, but they have vineyards in the best sites. Based on some of the richest Kimmeridgian clay of the region, Les Preuses lies at the top of the hill on which all the Grands Crus are based. US critic Robert Parker writes: “Les Preuses has the best exposition of any of the Grands Crus on the côte, being higher up the hill with even better drainage than its neighbours – it also receives more hours of sunshine than any other Grand Cru.” From a generous, fine quality vintage, this white is intense, rich and poised. Reserve for your finest seafood dishes, or enjoy with gougères.
