Chat with Vinny
For six generations the Confuron family have worked the fine vineyards of Nuits-St-Georges, Gevrey and Vosne-Romanée. Despite Clive Coates MW urging us to "snap them up" in 2008, they remain under the radar. Enjoy this top-vintage, ripe-fruit 2019.

For a fine, polished Nuits-St-Georges at a reasonable price, look out for this small domaine. The Confuron family have been tending their 11 hectares of tiny vineyards for six generations. This Nuits-St-Georges comes from parcels right on the border of Vosne-Romanée. No wonder then, the wine has a suppleness and harnessed power reminisicent of its neighbour. The grapes come from four vineyards that together make up a meagre 1.34 hectares. Many are ancient too, up to 80 years old, so the fruit is impressive. The wine just needs time to unfurl. Vines and terroir are king here, and François Confuron works hard in the vineyard, then gently treats the wine in his small cellar. 18 months in small, part new oak, lends polish to this rich wine.
