Bonneau de Martray is one of the most highly regarded domaines in the Côte d’Or and most famous for its resplendent Corton Charlemagne. It remained in the same family from the French Revolution until 2017, when it was purchased by Screaming Eagle owner, Stan Kroenke. That created headlines. Already one of Burgundy’s most prestigious estates, making solely Grand Cru wines and owning the largest block of vines on the Corton hill, Kroenke aims to push quality even higher to fully exploit its unique terroir. And that starts with the 2017. Fermented and aged in barrel, a third new, for a year, then blended and aged for a further six months. Toasted walnuts, nectarine and apricot, racy, creamy, intense with mineral finesse. Worth every penny!

"Ripe citrus, crisp orchard fruit, blanched almonds, pastry cream and spring flowers. Very promising" William Kelley
