Portugal is exciting wine country to explore – it has a plethora of fascinating grape varieties to discover, great on flavour. Now, with massive investment and a new generation of well travelled winemakers, their potential is finally being realised. Amoras is from an estate north of Lisbon, owned for several generations by the da Silva family. The soil, slopes and breezy conditions close to the Atlantic combine with long sunny days to make this ideal grape growing country. Amoras comprises Fernão Pires for its weight and spice, Arinto for crisp citrus fruit, Vital for floral aromas, and Moscatel for its fresh grapey character. A lovely crisp alternative to Pinot Grigio. It’s the perfect aperitif and partner for seafood, salads and sushi.
