Tasting notes

Langhorne Creek has been growing vines since the mid-1800s. Indeed it produces some of Australia's finest Shiraz, yet it remains one of Australia’s best kept secrets. Nestled among the gum trees of the Bremer and Angas rivers, its rich and alluvial soils are fed by water flowing down from the Mount Lofty Ranges, while cool breezes from the Southern Ocean make this an ideal spot for pure fruit wines. Our Buyer Dan works with an old family winery there and whenever they want to clear surplus stock, they're always sure to ring him first. This is one such parcel – dense Shiraz fermented in traditional open top vats and hand plunged. It has gorgeous ripe blackberry and juicy plum fruit well-integrated with notes of spicy oak. Tops with lamb.
