The 2018 vintage of this wine scored 92-94 points and the 2019 is certainly its match. This voluptuous Châteauneuf, from an 18th century family and 7th generation winemaker Emilie, is velvety with lush, ripe black fruit, spice and herbal length.

Création d’Emilie is crafted by the owner of Domaine du Père Caboche, Jean-Pierre Boisson's daughter Emilie. Their family has been associated with Châteauneuf-du-Pape for centuries, with Jean-Pierre a former mayor of this premium appellation. Création d’Emilie combines the four main terroirs of the region. Le Crau, its most famous and finest cru, with pebbles on red clay that contribute to the fullness of the wine. Then Les Serres, with its pebbles and alluvium, great for Grenache. And finally, Les Plagnes (pebbly soil) and Le Parc (limestone), both excellent for Syrah. The 2019 has ripe, rounded tannins, dark fruits and herbal spice complexity. If drinking now, decant in advance and serve with roast game, lamb or ratatouille. Will cellar.

"Wonderfully silky and creamy texture. It's full-bodied but seems nearly weightless, great fruit" Joe Czerwinski on 2017
