Mézigue Blanc 2015

Vin de France

Delphine Glangetas has a passion for the wilder side of France’s Languedoc region, in particular its quirky, less-known grapes. She crafted this white to be rich yet crisp and light on its feet and loved it so much she named it Mézigue, ‘it’s mine!’.

The Languedoc is one of France’s most exciting wine regions, thanks in part to new plantings of classic varietals such as Merlot and Chardonnay, and also to discoveries of old parcels of all but forgotten vines. These often include rare varieties that are now coming back into fashion. A classic example of this is Mézigue, made from Grenache Blanc and Marsanne, both of which are more commonly found in the Rhône Valley and in the Minervois. Winemaker Delphine Glangetas selected parcels from various terroirs within the Languedoc and combined them to produce a wine with lime, marzipan, white pepper and kiwi fruit aromas. The 2015 is fruity and crisp, and perfect served with herb baked white fish, simple pasta dishes or roast chicken salad.
