Liboreau Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Charentais IGP

We love working with the Cave de Liboreau and winemaker Eric Graizeau – he knows what our customers like and delivers every time. That’s why all the Liboreau wines are such a hit. This lovely Bordeaux-style white is brisk with stony lemon fruit.

In the last 20 years, the Charente has become as famous for thoroughly modern table wines – crisp whites and supple reds – as it is for fine Cognac. The climate is similar to nearby Bordeaux and equally suited to Merlot, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. The Cave de Liboreau, operating for 50 years, has reinvented itself from bulk wine and spirit producer to niche cellar offering high quality bottled wine. They have a hundred local growers committed to providing perfect, ripe grapes, while chief winemaker Eric Graizeau sees to it that the wine is of the finest quality (and for a much more affordable price than the Bordeaux equivalent). Citrus fresh and full of grassy flavours, this arresting Sauvignon is refreshing solo, or with salad or fish.
