Chat with Vinny

Campo de Corazones 2016

Jumilla DO

Tucked away, Jumilla is one of the greatest value wine regions of Europe. The dry conditions mean vines stay close to the ground, but the quality of the grapes is exceptional and the flavour full on. This is a gorgeous, dense, big-on-spice red.

Local tradition in this part of Spain saw the town’s maidens come to help with the harvest dressed in their finest garb in the hope of attracting a husband. Campo de Corazones, meaning ‘Field of Hearts’, produced more marriages than any other. Current owner Don Juan (how appropriate) Vicente García Jordán cannot guarantee that sharing his wine will have any impact on your love life. However, exceptional value is a given, for Jumilla is “the most underrated wine region in Europe” (Tim Atkin MW). International stars Cabernet and Syrah join with Tempranillo and spicy Monastrell to form a wine of mouthfilling richness, thanks to the tiny yields from desert-like Jumilla. Enjoy with grilled meats, hearty casseroles and the partner of your dreams!
