More information
This supple, fruity, easy drinking red is from the great Zuccardi family winery which in 2016 won a Gold and a Trophy at the prestigious International Wine Challenge as well as a Lifetime Achievement award. Familia Zuccardi is certainly one of the finest cellars in Argentina, leading the field in innovation and quality. They’ve named this wine La Porteña, ‘the girl from Buenos Aires’, after Argentina’s first steam train. It was built in Leeds in the 1850s and among its duties was the transport of wine from Mendoza to Buenos Aires. The wine is a delightful blend of Malbec’s seductive dark fruit with the bramble and spice complexity of Shiraz. Tasty solo and versatile with food – from vegetarian bakes to sausages – and a fine barbecue choice.
