Cabernet lovers, take note! A great new source for this great grape, with a spicy Spanish twist. It’s not native to the country, of course, yet Cabernet Sauvignon loves the warm climate and produces delicious, juicy, ripe flavour. The de Lluna vineyards, at 600 metres above sea level, lie 30 miles from Valencia (where city folk from Madrid flock to in summer for relaxation). The late John Radford adored Spain: “Spanish wine is more vibrant, happening and fascinating than it has ever been” (The New Spain), an opinion beautifully illustrated by this silky, scented Cabernet. Crafted by Maria Angeles Camara (the star winemaker behind our popular Palacio del Conde wines), it’s an ideal match with grilled meats and perfect at a barbecue.
