We’re really excited to bring you this new red from one of the most fashionable regions in Spain, made by the man behind some of the country’s most highly rated reds. As Simon Woods notes, “Modern Priorat is wild, opulent and packed with flavours” (FT Weekend). Pioners del Priorat is named in honour of the men and women who paved the way in this difficult mountainous landscape – from the 12th century Carthusian monks to the pioneers of today. Parker rated winemaker Raúl Acha used the traditional grapes of the region – Garnacha, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon – to craft a wine typical of the region’s classic reds. Spicy and floral, it has deep red fruit flavours and a persistent finish. Enjoy with grilled or roast meats, especially lamb.
