Flagstone Free Run Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Cape South Coast WO

This flavour packed Sauvignon is one of the finest we’ve tried from South Africa – a testament to Bruce Jack’s skills. It's also due to the provenance of the grapes, Elgin and Elim, regions that, ocean cooled, bring out the freshness in the grape.

Bruce Jack is one of South Africa’s most talented winemakers. A lifelong surfer, with a master’s degree in English literature from St Andrews! However, having graduated, he got a job in the wine trade and caught the wine bug. Then he completed a winemaking degree at the University of Adelaide in Australia, before moving back home to South Africa. He started Flagstone Wines in 1998 with the aim of crafting top quality wines in a way that respects the environment while giving something back to the local community. Using top quality grapes from premium coastal regions Elim and Elgin, this lees aged Sauvignon is crafted from free run juice to bring out a glorious pureness of fruit. With tropical fruit and brisk minerality, this is a delight.

"Cool climate Sauvignon from hand-tended vineyards in Elgin and Elim makes for bright, crisp flavour" Kirsten Willis
