More information
Château Tertre Daugay is a renowned Grand Cru Classé estate on Saint Emilion’s côte, west of Château Ausone. It’s a near neighbour of three other iconic châteaux, L’Angélus, Magdelaine and Canon La Gaffelière, and is thought to have some of the finest terroir of the region. Hence in 2017 the owners of Château Haut-Brion decided to buy it. This is the fine 2010 vintage, which Parker calls “one of the finest Tertre Daugays, a sleeper of the vintage”. The wine was made with the assistance of Stéphane Derenoncourt – a famous consultant known for wines such as Château La Mondotte. Combining Merlot with Cabernet Franc, the wine was aged in part new oak to create a claret of considerable depth and complexity. Open early and serve with roast meats.
