Saint-Estèphe wines are renowned for their concentrated flavour and hallmark notes of cassis, tobacco, cigar box and crushed stone, all supported by firm tannins. That's certainly what you'll find in Château Saint Pierre de Corbian 2016, though with an unusually high percentage of Merlot, it's more supple than most. As noted by expert Antoni Galloni, "it works beautifully", "there is so much to like". The 2016 bears all the characteristics of its outstanding vintage, offering defined aromas of red stone fruit, smoke and cured meat overtones. Our Fine Wine team recommended this 2016 – it "gives you an awful lot of wine for not a lot of money." Still firm, the wine will benefit from cellaring or decant early and serve with rich meat dishes.
