Robert Parker described Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux as one offering “undeniable quality and value”. This top vintage, Merlot-rich claret certainly bears this out with its lavish ripe fruit supported by firm, velvety tannins. Since Bernard Cazeneuve took over in 1990, wine quality has soared. Indeed, this gorgeous 2015 has four Golds and 92 points from Decanter and nearly every vintage since 1995 has a Silver or more. Bernard says that the 2015 is the best vintage he’s ever produced (2016 is its near rival), and is packed with “massive concentration and fruit”. Made using largely Merlot, the wine is overflowing with ripe brambly and plum richness. Supple, smooth, elegant, this is a classy Bordeaux. Open early, decant and enjoy with roast meats.

"Dense with a fine fruity potential. The wine is full of black-currant fruitiness" Wine Enthusiast
